Microsoft has introduced Administrator Protection, a powerful new security feature in Windows 11. Available to Windows Insiders in the Canary Channel with Build 27774, this feature enhances system security by applying the Principle of Least Privilege (PoLP) to administrative accounts.

With Administrator Protection, even users logged in as administrators operate with standard permissions by default. Elevated privileges are granted temporarily through just-in-time (JIT) privileges, requiring explicit authentication via Windows Hello or a PIN. To add an extra layer of clarity, color-coded elevation prompts now visually highlight risky actions, making them harder to overlook.

This feature significantly reduces the risk of privilege escalation attacks, empowering both home and business users to take control of their system security. Administrator Protection is a step forward in modernizing Windows security, paving the way for safer computing environments.
