The new art museum is set to open in Irvine, California, and is planned to be an expansive art building. The museum will also house exhibitions showcasing artwork from throughout the state. The new center will house seminal California works and will be completed in a few years. The current museum houses more than 4,500 pieces from the Irvine Museum Collection and more recent donations and acquisitions. The interim museum will open in early June, and it will also house various pop-up sites. The IMCA is currently hosting a number of rotating exhibitions. While the new museum is still under construction, the new Langson IMCA will feature permanent and temporary exhibitions.

At the museum, visitors can learn about various cultures by visiting the Museum of Latin American Art.
