T-Mobile Data Breach Settlement: Claim Status, Payments and Safety

Reviewed September 28, 2026. This article concerns the historical settlement over the August 2021 T-Mobile data breach. It is not an announcement of a newly opened 2026 claims program. Earlier wording on this page said the claims process was “now open”; that statement has been removed because it was not supported by a current administrator notice.

Which settlement does this page cover?

The case is In re: T-Mobile Customer Data Security Breach Litigation, in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri. The June 29, 2023 final approval order approved the class settlement. Hagens Berman, which represented consumers in the litigation, identifies the settlement value as $350 million and links to the administrator’s website.

Do not confuse this case with a different T-Mobile breach, billing dispute, or later settlement. A similar company name in a search result does not establish eligibility.

Can I file a new claim now?

Do not rely on this article or its older “2025” URL as an invitation to file. The preliminary approval order established a historical claim deadline tied to the notice date. We have not verified a current reopening or extension. Check the administrator’s current instructions for the exact case before taking action.

How to check an existing claim or payment

  1. Find the case name and claim reference in your original notice or confirmation.
  2. Visit the settlement administrator’s website directly, or reach it through the link on counsel’s case page.
  3. Use the contact instructions supplied by the administrator to ask about your claim, address changes, an unreceived payment, or a payment that cannot be deposited.
  4. Keep copies of your original submission and correspondence. Do not post claim identifiers or identity documents in public comments.

The administrator’s website could not be independently reviewed from our connection on September 28, 2026. We therefore do not state that payments are currently being issued, that a particular check amount is available, or that an individual claim has been approved.

How much will I receive?

The total settlement fund is not an individual payout. An individual’s benefit depends on the applicable settlement terms, the type and validity of the claim, documentation where required, and administration of the fund. Earlier figures on this page should not be treated as a guaranteed payment. Ask the administrator about your own claim.

How to avoid settlement scams

Verify the case and official contact details before responding to an unexpected message. Do not share a password, one-time sign-in code, or banking login to “unlock” a settlement payment. A message promising a payout does not establish that it came from the administrator. If information was misused, use IdentityTheft.gov and your financial providers’ trusted channels for recovery guidance.

What businesses can learn from the breach

Review access controls, sensitive-data retention, monitoring, and incident procedures before a breach occurs. Technijian provides business cybersecurity services; request an assessment to discuss your organization’s risks. Technijian does not administer this settlement or determine eligibility.

This is general information, not legal advice. The settlement administrator, court documents, and your legal adviser are the appropriate sources for questions about an individual claim.
